Central Goldfields Shire
Central Goldfields Shire is located in north-west Victoria, approximately 140 km from Melbourne. The region has a Mediterranean climate with warm to hot dry summers, and cold, wet winters. A region of varying landscapes from high riverine plains, volcanic plains to rocky hills with nearby ironbark forest.
City of Greater Bendigo
Situated in the centre of Victoria the City of Greater Bendigo provides a broad range of film locations – from natural forests and reserves, farmlands and industry, small towns to large cities, heritage and contemporary architecture. All areas of the region are well supported by transport networks, with direct road and rail links to Melbourne, and there are a range of accommodation options available to suit any requirements.
Gannawarra Shire

It is renowned for its semi-rural lifestyle, its pristine forests, unique natural features such as Hanging Rock, and the character and heritage of local townships.
Mount Alexander Shire
Located in central Victoria the Mount Alexander Shire has a wide variety of film locations on offer and has been host to a number of films – the most recent example being ‘Romulus my Father’. With its origins steeped in gold, today the Mount Alexander Shire has both urban and rural communities and towns with surrounding areas of national historic and environmental significance.

The region offers exciting film locations including the swamplands and bush covering the banks downstream, several authentic beautifully preserved historic towns including whole streetscapes, and a broad selection of rural and pastoral scenes, from struggling Australian bush hamlets, to rolling English hillsides, to idyllic sloping romantic vineyards reminiscent of Tuscany.
