Cohuna

Overview
Cohuna is situated on the Murray Valley Highway between Echuca and Kerang. The picturesque main street is situated opposite the Gunbower Creek providing an ideal spot for filming in a true Australian country town.
Cohuna has a strong dairy industry on the Riverine plains and is renowned Australia wide as a producer of advanced irrigation components.
History
The area is thought to have been occupied by the Baraparapa people long before white settlement and prehistoric burials of world importance were found locally in 1925 and in the late 1960s.
The first settlers came to the district from the north in 1835-1836. A Post Office opened in the area on the 18th September 1875, known as Mologa until 1876, then Cohuna and renamed Cullen in 1884 when Cohuna township post office opened.
