Lockington

Overview
South-west of Echuca, Lockington features the broad roads and brightly detailed well-kept public parks common to small but proud Australian country towns. Lockington is prolifically colourful through most parts of the year due to a profusion of gazinnia that escaped from someone’s garden many years ago.
History
A relative late-comer to the district, Lockington was not created until 1921, when Government sub-division of farming properties into town allotments and the relocation of several buildings from outlying mining encampments saw the rise of a town. The town was named after Father Lockington, a temperance priest.
