Overview

Wedderburn is a thriving little community steeped in the history of the old goldfields, featuring lush bush with ironbark trees and native flora and fauna. In Wedderburn you will find friendly country pubs, boutique wineries, areas of historical and cultural significance.

History

It is claimed that in excess of 80% of all major gold nuggets found in the world come from within a 40 mile radius of Wedderburn. Wedderburn is still know for the gold that brought it fame and fortune in the past, the not so distant past, and the present time.

The streetscapes and historic buildings are worth stopping to view, as are the town’s Museum/General Store and Hard Hill Historic Reserve.
